I got hooked on running in the fall of 2006 after spending nine years recovering from a serious episode of congestive heart failure. Now I run road and trail races as a middle of the pack participant and share my passion with new runners as the Coal Harbour clinic coordinator for the 10km Vancouver Sun Run Training Clinic.
Of the two running activities, trail racing is my favourite. A well planned trail run offers an incredible mental and physical challenge, not to mention numerous opportunities to get good and muddy!
After two years of dedicated Hatha yoga practice with Mike Dennison I was invited to appear in his Runners' Yoga DVD. It was a great experience. I recommend yoga for anyone interested in improving core strength and flexibility - important attributes for any runner.
